4 Fun Wedding Reception Ideas

We know...weddings should be formal and etiquette laced...but thats not for everybody! At Events by Missy we encourage our brides & grooms-to-be to get into the sprint of fun and family...be sure to incorporate any one of these ideas to let your guests let loose and truly enjoy your wedding with these entertaining ideas!

1. Walk Down Memory Lane ~ decorate your ceremony, cocktail and reception space with photos...older relatives weddings, childhood friends...the couple in their younger years. Its a conversation started between guests and everyone gets to reminisce.

2. Sweets Buffet ~ let you guests get up and involved after sitting thru a 5 course dinner. Everything from a cupcake decorating station to a candy buffet or even a chocolate fountain...who wouldn't love to create their own dessert?

3. A Local Food Truck ~ after a long night of drinking & dancing; treat guests to a local food truck treat on their way out of the reception. Here in New York there is everting from ice cream to cupcakes to pretzels and anything in between. If you have an earlier dinner guests may even be hungry again so hot dogs or burgers would be fun too!  If you have a late nigh reception you may even want to offer some waffles and hot coco.

4. Have an After-Party ~ why let the fun stop; these days brides & grooms keep the party going with an after-party. Treat guests to a school bus ride to a nigh club or pub for more fun...dancing til dawn...what a better way to end the evening?
